TRANSMASTER Interface Specification for POS Terminals based on ISO 8583:1993(E)1 IntroductionThis document describes an interface whose purpose is to support magnetic and smart card transactions generated by POS (Point-Of-Service) terminals. The interface is based on ISO 8583:1993(E) standard. While this specification is largely self contained, some readers may need or wish to seek further clarification and details from the ISO document. Every effort has been made to remain consistent with the ISO specification. It can be assumed that anything not explicitly mentioned here conforms to the ISO specification. If data elements mentioned as "optional" are received by the terminal, they must not cause terminal to fail. 2 General information2.1 Communications2.1.1 Communications infrastructure2.1.2 Communications through erratic network2.1.3 Communications through durable networks3 Authorization, reversal and network messages3.1 Message body3.1.1 General message structure3.1.2 Types of messages and their flow3.1.3 Tables of bitmaps3.2 Description of fields4 Financial, financial advice, and reconciliation messages4.1 Message flow diagrams4.1.1 Financial messages4.1.2 Financial advice messages4.1.3 Repeat messages4.1.4 Reconciliation messages4.2 Contents of messages4.2.1 Contents of financial messages4.2.2 Financial advice messages4.2.3 Contents of reconciliation messages4.2.4 Description of field 48 for 15XX message class only4.3 Description of fields5 File action and notification messages5.1 File action messages5.1.1 File action flow diagrams5.1.2 Contents of messages5.1.3 Description of field 725.2 Administrative message class5.2.1 Message flow diagrams5.2.2 Contents of administrative notification messages5.2.3 Description of field 726 APPENDIX6.1 Fixed set of fields6.2 Cryptography6.2.1 Preparing DES cryptographic keys6.2.2 PIN-based transactions6.2.3 MAC calculation and verification6.2.4 Data ciphering in the message6.2.5 Derived Unique Key Per Transaction6.3 Description of ICC Related Data6.3.1 Description of field 556.3.2 Coding principles for ICC Related Data sub-field elements6.3.3 Examples6.4 Special types of requests6.4.1 Statement request6.4.2 Payment6.5 CRC calculation6.6 The whole set of possible response codes6.7 Examples of Link Set-up Protocol Diagrams6.7.1 Telephone Network link to X.25 PAD6.7.2 Telephone Network link to the Host6.7.3 Dedicated line link to X.25 PAD6.7.4 Telephone Network link to Internet6.7.5 Dedicated line link to Internet7 References | ||
